About me

Some bits about me

I have played games for a long time, and this has influenced a lot of things in my life.

  • I am part of (and am highly active in) multiple sim racing leagues and communities

  • I have a YouTube channel where I upload gaming videos (I also upload some videos of my projects) - YouTube

I do actually have a life outside of gaming though as well.

  • I have ridden motorbikes for almost 10 years now, and I currently ride a Honda. Being from North Yorkshire, I like to ride into the Yorkshire Dales in the summer.

  • I like to do sports and exercise (football/running etc.). My favourite time to run is at 4am, when nobody is awake and there is a cool morning dew.

My experience in game design.

I studied an extended diploma in games design at Darlington College. This course was an Epic Games partnered course lasted 2 years.

As well as this I have completed a 3 year bachelors degree in game design at Teesside University

  • University achievement | Expotees - Showing off my work to industry

    • Expotees is an event run by Teesside University. It gives selected students a chance to show off their work to games industry members from multiple companies. I was chosen to show off my work at this event, and it was a great experience. I chose to show off "The Plaza" as my main level design project and I got great feedback, both positives and improvements. As well as this I got to talk to people in industry about what it's like to work on games.

Throughout my game design journey, I have used a range of software's for a range of different projects. These projects range from, designing a menu UI, to modelling and texturing art pieces, to creating a mission for an FPS game.

The software's I have used include:

  • Unreal engine 4/5 - 5 years

  • Unity - 1.5 years

  • Photoshop - 5 years

  • Video editing software's (such as DaVinci resolve) - 5 years

I have worked on projects as a solo dev, but I have also worked in larger groups. The sizes of the groups in these projects have ranged from 8-18. In these larger scale projects I have had the chance to work with a range of disciplines and some incredibly talented people.

I know I am still only starting my game design journey, but I am excited to see what the future has in store for me.
